These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern participation in the RBT Scholarship Program (“Program”) offered by Pieces Behavioral Group (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By applying for or participating in the Program, you (“Participant”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. PROGRAM PURPOSE
The RBT Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance and structured guidance to individuals seeking to obtain their Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and employment with the Company.
Participation is contingent upon meeting all deadlines, communication requirements, and employment obligations outlined herein.
2. ELIGIBILITY
To participate, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Be legally authorized to work in the United States
Meet any state-specific employment requirements
Successfully complete required screenings, including fingerprinting and background checks
Agree to the six-month employment commitment
Acceptance into the Program is not guaranteed and is at the sole discretion of the Company.
3. SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE
The scholarship covers:
40-hour RBT training course
RBT competency assessment
NPI registration assistance
Medicaid enrollment assistance
The scholarship does NOT cover:
Study guides
Practice examinations
Additional BCBA consultation beyond standard competency assessment
Academic advisor services
BACB examination fee
Fingerprinting costs (unless otherwise agreed)
Optional Academic Support Package may be purchased for $250 (regularly $500).
The Company reserves the right to modify scholarship inclusions at any time.
4. PROGRAM TIMELINE REQUIREMENTS
The Program follows a structured 4-week timeline.
Course Completion
The 40-hour course must be completed within two (2) weeks of the assigned start date.
A one-time 48-hour grace period may be granted at Company discretion.
Failure to complete within the deadline will result in removal from the Program.
Competency Video Submission
All required competency materials must be submitted within one (1) week after course completion.
A one-time 48-hour extension may be granted.
Failure to meet this deadline may result in dismissal.
Documentation Submission
All required documentation must be prepared for BACB submission by the end of Week Four.
Examination
The Participant is responsible for all BACB exam fees, unless otherwise stated in the scholarship contract.
Approval to test does not guarantee exam passage.
Failure to adhere to deadlines may result in removal from the Program without further obligation by the Company.
5. FINGERPRINTING & BACKGROUND CHECK
Participants are required to complete fingerprinting and any required background screenings.
Participants are responsible for fingerprinting costs, unless otherwise stated in the scholarship contract.
If the Company advances the cost, it will be deducted from the Participant’s first paycheck as permitted by law.
Failure to pass required screenings will result in disqualification.
6. COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENT
Due to the accelerated nature of the Program, Participants must:
Maintain active communication via text or email
Notify the Program Instructor (“PI”) immediately if assistance is needed
Respond to Company communications in a timely manner
Failure to maintain communication may result in removal from the Program.
7. SIX-MONTH EMPLOYMENT COMMITMENT & REPAYMENT OBLIGATION
A. Consideration & Acknowledgment of Value
Participant acknowledges that the scholarship provides substantial financial benefit, including payment for training, competency assessment, administrative processing, and related services (the “Scholarship Benefits”). Participant further acknowledges that these benefits are provided in exchange for the six (6) month employment commitment outlined herein. Participant understands and agrees that participation in the scholarship and completion of the training does not guarantee employment, continued employment, or placement with the Company or any affiliated entity.
Participant agrees that the Scholarship Benefits constitute valid consideration and that repayment terms are reasonable and not punitive.
B. Minimum Employment Requirement
Participant agrees to remain actively employed with the Company for a minimum of six (6) consecutive months following their official employment start date.
C. Repayment Trigger Events
The full repayment obligation shall be triggered if:
Participant voluntarily resigns before completing six (6) months of employment;
Participant abandons employment;
Participant fails to obtain certification due to non-compliance with Program requirements;
Participant is terminated for cause prior to completion of six (6) months;
Participant is removed from the Program due to missed deadlines or misconduct.
D. Amount Owed
In the event of a repayment trigger, Participant agrees to reimburse the Company for the full value of the Scholarship Benefits, including but not limited to:
40-hour training course
Competency assessment
Administrative processing (NPI, Medicaid enrollment, documentation support)
Fingerprinting costs (if advanced by Company)
Any additional services provided
Total Scholarship Value: $1500
Participant agrees this amount represents a reasonable estimate of actual costs incurred by the Company and is not a penalty.
E. Payment Terms
Repayment shall be due in full within thirty (30) calendar days of separation or dismissal from the Program unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Failure to remit payment within thirty (30) days will result in:
Immediate acceleration of any remaining balance
Referral to collections
Assessment of allowable interest as permitted by law
F. Wage Deduction Authorization
To the extent permitted by applicable state and federal law, Participant authorizes the Company to deduct any outstanding repayment amount from:
Final paycheck
Accrued wages
Bonuses
Commissions
Any remaining balance after permitted wage deductions shall remain the Participant’s responsibility.
G. Collection Costs & Attorney’s Fees
Participant agrees to pay all reasonable costs associated with collection of unpaid amounts, including but not limited to:
Collection agency fees
Court costs
Reasonable attorney’s fees
H. No Waiver of Rights
The Company’s decision not to immediately enforce repayment shall not constitute a waiver of its right to collect at a later date.
I. Severability
If any portion of this repayment provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
8. AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT
Participation in the Program does not guarantee employment.
If hired, employment is at-will. Either party may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause, subject to repayment obligations outlined above.
9. NO GUARANTEE OF CERTIFICATION
The Company does not guarantee:
BACB approval
Passing of the RBT examination
Continued eligibility for employment
Certification decisions are made solely by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All course materials, training documents, videos, and internal processes provided through the Program remain the property of the Company and may not be copied, distributed, or reproduced without written permission.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for:
Failure to obtain certification
Delays caused by third parties
BACB decisions
Examination outcomes
Employment termination
Participation is voluntary and at the Participant’s own risk.
12. MODIFICATIONS
The Company reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
13. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. ACCEPTANCE
By applying for or participating in the Program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
